Referee Information

Maynard Youth Soccer is always looking for people interested in becoming soccer referees to referee our in-town youth matches as well as travel matches in the NVYSL.

Effective May 2014 the Massachusetts State Referee Committee (MSRC) stopped offering Grade-9 Referee certifications.  This raises the minimum age to obtain a USSF/MSRC referee certification to age 14 and the entry level is Grade-8.

MYS registered players aged 12 and 13 can participate in the MYS Developmental Referee-in-Training program to learn refereeing.  The MYS Developmental Referee-in-Training program was launched in Fall 2015 and it provides training and mentoring for 12 and 13 year old MYS registered players to learn refereeing by participating in MYS U8 age group matches.

For additional information about becoming a USSF Grade-8 referee or a MYS Developmental Referee, please see the "Becoming a Referee" tab.
